TRX unfreeze error — causes and fixes

Work blockers in order: delegation, amount, fees, then the 14-day clock and withdraw.

Updated 2026-10-07

Answer first: A TRX unfreeze error usually means one of four blockers: delegated resources still out, invalid amount/resource, broadcast fees (Bandwidth/Energy), or withdrawing before maturity. Work them in order—don’t spam retries.

Checklist (in order)

  1. Delegation. Undelegate lent Energy/Bandwidth (guide).
  2. Amount & resource. Match available stake; fix invalid unfreeze_balance.
  3. Fees. Keep liquid TRX / Bandwidth for the unstake tx (not enough Bandwidth).
  4. Clock. Wait ~14 days; then withdraw—not another unstake (timing, withdraw).
  5. UI lies. Grey buttons on explorers → disabled button or Tronscan blocked.

Use live status

Paste your address into UnstakeDesk status (TronGrid read-only). If the API is down we show an error—we never invent balances.

Full healthy path

When blockers are clear, follow how to unfreeze TRX end-to-end.

How to read wallet error text

Wallet toasts are often truncated. Open the failed transaction on a public explorer and read the contract validate message. Strings containing unfreeze_balance, resource mismatches, or bandwidth exhaustion map to the problem pages linked above.

Do not do this

When to contact support

If status shows a pending entry, the tx succeeded on-chain, and Withdraw still fails after maturity, contact @unstakedesk_support with your address and tx id—never with a seed phrase.

FAQ

What should I check first on a TRX unfreeze error?

Delegation still out, invalid amount/resource, missing fee Bandwidth, then whether you still need to withdraw after the wait.

Does UnstakeDesk invent balances?

No. Status is TronGrid read-only. Always verify the tx on a public explorer.
